05/12/2010 2010 Inlet Challenge Bicycle Ride

On Sunday December 5, 2010 Kids In Distress hosted the KID Inlet Bicycle Challenge fundraiser. The KID Inlet Challenge Bicycle race consisted of a Century (100 Miles) and the Metric Century (62.5 Miles), Of course no matter what course riders chose each pedal was for a great cause. Kids In Distress (KID) is a nationally-accredited, community-supported agency based in South Florida, specializing in children and families. KID provides services that prevent and treat child abuse, while also educating and strengthening families. The proceeds of the KID Inlet Challenge benefit Kids In Distress, a leading force and authority in prevention of child abuse, preservation of families, and the treatment of children who have been abused and neglected.

Galiz Cycling Team took part in the KID Inlet Bicycle event presented by Z-Motion. It is the second year, the Team Galiz takes part in this charity event covering FT Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.

Team Galiz riders; Joe, Alex, Henry, Dennis, Carlos, Jorge, Jaimito, luis Avila, Vito, Eduardo, Luis Pedraza, Pacho Lopez, Marco, Gerry, Roxana, Ricardo, Manuel y Jorge “ el tio” lined up for the start  at Fort Lauderdale Bahia Mar and finished successfully after completing 62 miles of race. 

Andrew Talasky, who is a world class cyclist, team member of Garmin-Cervelo and raced for amateur California Giant Berry Farms squad and internationally with the US National Team, as a neo-pro in 2009 with the Italian Amore & Vita-McDonald's team and now signed a three-year contract with the team Garmin-Cervelo was riding side by side with the boys of  Galiz Cycling team.

Galiz Cycling Team members at the end of the event were very honored to be able to take part in the KID Inlet challenge and despite the fact that temperatures were low the team was one of the largest teams in the race, The Team was confident in showing a good performance riding and at the same time helping a good cause.
